Photo of the Week: Junior’s No. 3 SportsCenter Top Play
If you haven’t seen this shot by now, you’ve been really out of the loop the past few days. John Grant Jr. scored a goal for the Colorado Mammoth that many are calling the best goal of all time. He actually scored on this same shot two seasons ago as well, but the consensus is that Junior outdid himself with this year’s version.
NLL Week 4 Preview & Predictions
Seven games went down in the books this past weekend and the results shook up the standings and changed my opinions on certain teams. Let’s start off with Buffalo, then we’ll look at the rest of the teams, and make predictions for this weekend!
Tweet of the Week: John Tavares, Ageless Wonder
In my opinion, there are two indisputable legends of the indoor game currently playing in the NLL. The first is John Grant Jr. The second scored an OT winner for the Buffalo Bandits last weekend while playing against the Philadelphia Wings. His name is John Tavares.
Mammoth sign former MVP Iannucci
The Colorado Mammoth’s roster already included one former NLL Most Valuable Player in John Grant, Jr. On Wednesday, the team announced that it signed another: Athan Iannucci, who won the award in 2008 when he shattered the league record for goals scored in a season with 71. The contract is pending league approval.
Vintage MILL Greatest Hits and Bloopers
Our friend Chris shared this little gem with us. Don’t have a lot going on this weekend? Spend a solid 30 minutes watching some very entertaining vintage box lacrosse. As most of us know, the MILL eventually became the NLL in which we love today. Let’s get back to the roots!
NLL Week 3 Preview & Picking Winners
I think it is safe to say that there are going to be some great games this NLL season. Hopefully, with the extra exposure on TSN combined with The Lacrosse Network, Altitude and ESPN3 the NLL can attract new viewers and fans. Just like week one, there were two great games this past weekend. Toronto managed to hold off Calgary and Colorado made a memorable comeback to beat Vancouver.
NLL Week 2 Preview & Picking Winners
The Knighthawks raised their second consecutive Champions Cup banner, and then proceeded to down the Swarm 8-6 at Blue Cross Arena. Edmonton was able to hold on to a close win over Colorado in front of nearly 16,000 fans. The Philadelphia Wings made a loud and clear statement that they are not going to roll over this season as they topped the newly revamped Buffalo Bandits on the road. What will happen in Week 2?
Tweet of the Week: Mammoth Trending
The NLL kicked off last weekend, and although Colorado dropped their home opener, they were making big waves online. Trendsmap, a website that monitors what’s trending on Twitter in different cities, tweeted that “Mammoth” was trending in Denver during the game against Edmonton.
