Chicago-Area High School Laxer a Speed Skating Olympian

Emery Lehman, a 17-year-old senior and midfielder at Oak Park-River Forest (Ill.) High in suburban Chicago, will represent the United States in both the 5,000- and 10,000-meter speed skating events starting this weekend in Sochi, Russia.

Hot Pot: THIS Is Sportsmanship

We can all get caught up in the moment, and sometimes the spirit of competition blinds us to the needs of others who are struggling… but at other times we look past our immediate goals and try to do the right thing. In one of yesterday’s Olympic cross country skiing events we saw Sportsmanship in practice, and it was superb.

Former Cornell Lacrosse Player Makes US Bobsled Team

Chris Langton (Melrose, MA), a former standout lacrosse player for Cornell University, has been named to the US Bobsled team as push athlete. He joins 10 others as push athletes and joins his brother, Mike, on the team. Mike was a push athlete in 2010 for the US and was a member of the 2013 World Champion team. Three pilots were also named to the team, round the group out at 14 members.

Olympic Lacrosse Dream: FIL Accepted Into IWGA

The Federation of International Lacrosse has been accepted in to the IWGA, and this is a major step towards the end goal of Olympic participation. The IWGA runs the World Games, and that is where smaller, non-Olympic sports often go, especially if they aim to play in the Olympics eventually.
