Reader David Salmon has a lot to say.  Not only does he have an amazing submission but he also has some interesting thoughts on the LAS view of lacrosse in jolly olde England. I’ll let him explain:

I know you guys always love to see some old school lax, so here’s some 1998 flags final action from the UK.

I’m begrudgingly sending you guys this, as the impression I get about from laxallstars about English Lacrosse has always been a very poor, badly sourced one. Words like ‘Foppish’ and ‘Twee’ would not be out of place in a lot of your analysis of the game out here, which is largely inaccurate and paints us in an unfairly backward light…

Anyway, enjoy the video, the music in particular is something a bit special.

First, thanks for reading David. Also a big thank you for the first ever controversy in our Show LAS Your Old School series.

Now I’m not going to pretend that I understood every word in David’s email but after using the handy dandy internet I think some of the Grow The Game passion we have here at LaxAllStars was lost in translation over the pond.

Our coverage isn’t meant to be “foppish” ( “adjective for affecting extreme elegance in dress and manner”) or even “twee” (“adjective for  excessively or affectedly quaint, pretty, or sentimental”) but more respectful and honest. Hopefully that’s all cleared up now. Nobody on the LAS crew wants to have to resort to Revolutionary War blasts and Paul Revere references.  No anarchy in the UK over here!

Onward to David’s amazing video of Cheadle vs Heaton Mersey from 1998.

Warning: the music is as amazing as advertised.

Now go clean out the attic and relive your glory days. Submit your photos and stories to info@lacrosseallstars.com, and don’t forget to post your jacket photos to the LAS Facebook Page!
