- No. 2 Penn State will travel to No. 6 Penn this weekend in a battle of in-state rivals. Penn has a top-10 win over Maryland that occurred last weekend and a loss to Duke earlier in the year. Penn State had an undefeated record going into last weekend and were ranked the No. 1 team in the country until losing to Yale. The Bulldogs are the only team to have beaten Penn State since an April 2018 loss to Michigan, which Yale has since done three times. Grant Ament set a new Big Ten career points record in the loss. - Maryland was slated to travel to play Syracuse today in the Carrier Dome at 3:00 p.m. ET, but the Terps chose not to travel due to there being weather forecast concerns. Based on a forecast from Weather Underground, there was around two inches of snowfall expected to accumulate through Saturday with winds up to 15-20 miles per hour, although a Winter Advisory Warning was issued that could see a lake effect snowfall of up to five inches. The game has been rescheduled for 12:00 p.m. ET at the Maryland Field Hockey and Lacrosse Complex. According to Syracuse.com, the Orange had planned to honor their seniors at halftime as this is the last home game that will be played in the Dome due to construction. This weekend’s game is a top 10 matchup that features No. 4 Syracuse looking to avenge an 11-12 overtime loss to the eventual-champion Terps last season. - Towson’s Sami Chenoweth was recognized by the Baltimore Sun as one of NCAA Women’s Lacrosse’s top defenders, a role that Chenoweth has embraced. Chenoweth set a conference and program record in caused turnovers last year, and was named to the 2020 Tewaaraton Watch List for this season. Read the article here.

- Dane Dobbie made his return from a six-game suspension that was handed down on after Week 1 for what the league identified as gross misconduct. The Calgary Roughnecks were glad to have Dobbie back in the lineup, as the team beat the Georgia Swarm in overtime, 18-17, in part thanks to Dobbie’s six goals and one assist. - The Premier Lacrosse League announced a new partnership with Ticketmaster yesterday. The PLL has sold sponsorship rights to Ticketmaster, and will now officially be known as “PLL Powered By Ticketmaster” according to a Bloomberg article. The NBA’s D-League rebranded itself as the G-League due to a similar sponsorship with Gatorade. The English soccer Premier League formerly had Barclays Plc listed in its official name due to a sponsorship but ended that agreement in 2016 while continuing to work with Barclays in an agreement that has been renewed through the 2021/2022 season. League co-founder Paul Rabil in a release by the league said, “From size to scope, this partnership marks a historic moment for professional lacrosse, and the Premier Lacrosse League, specifically. Ticketmaster’s audience reach, innovative technology, and breadth of venue partners in sports and live events are unparalleled. Our fans will benefit from a first-class experience at every game that only Ticketmaster can offer on their site and app, with Ticketmaster’s marketing support empowering the PLL to better reach and communicate with our fans at every touch point, including before, during and after the action on the field. This is the new Premier Lacrosse League, and we’re proud to be powered by Ticketmaster.” Ticketmaster apparently will providing access to much of its data and analytics surrounding consumers that could provide a boost for the league. In case you missed it, Emmanuel College junior defender Michael “Ballsy” Balsamides lived up to his nickname and sent a full-field pass down the field to a wide-open … who buried it in the goal.
