Traditional Thursday: Center Track Customs

I don’t know about you, but I’m quickly becoming a huge fan of Center Track Customs. What’s are center track customs? They are pockets where the center track is a different color than the outside diamond, and personally, I think they look pretty darn awesome.

If you’re going to string a traditional, why not make it a little more colorful? All white is cool and all, but a flash of color is also nice!

You can take this as far as you want to, and below you can see the three examples I prepared this week. The first is a simple maroon center track with white crosslace used in the rest of the head. This method adds just a touch of color, and if you use all white materials elsewhere, it looks even better!Center Track Customs7

The second option would be for a some type of Pita variant, where you use different colored string to do the center track. You can use two contrasting colors like I did, or you can use the same color and it will look great either way.Center Track Customs6

Finally, you can do an entire pocket in one color, and then turn it into a six shooter with different colors on the outside! I put together this neon green six shooter for Jordan West-Pratt, and the white outside definitely add some additional funk to an already outrageous pocket. The colors work, the design is rock solid, and it will look great on the field or in the box. Success!Center Track Customs4

No matter what method you use, custom center tracks are a neat addition to your stringing style. It allows you to get a pop of color without going full neon army style, which is also ok! The key here is to be creative, and find new ways to make old methods even better. For me, this one is a keeper!Center Track Customs
