Ulaxin’ The Day Away

Sundays in the fall in NYC provide a great excuse to get out and lax it up. I be on that.

Week 5 of Ulax saw the LacrosseAllStars.com team take on Those Bad Johnnies. We followed up our win last week over Dirt McGirt with another W to up our record to 2-3 heading into the final week of the regular season.

Teamitup clears the ball in Week 5 action. I see a roll dodge coming.

We brought the pain on TBJ and took home a 9-2 win behind 3 goals each from Ben Gilklich and Joe Goldsmith. Grady Smith added 2 goals of his own off of great righty moves down the alley to aid us in the win. Vinnie Ricasio, aka the Art of Lax, was big in net making saves and pushing transition down the field.

The ArtofLax steps in to goal for another team in wont of tending. So nice.

Teamitup.com stayed perfect at 5-0 behind a big day from Joe Barile and George Kaleh who dropped 4 and 3 goals respectively.  Team Duh? was only able to muster 2 goals compared to Teamitup’s 10.  Dirt McGirt won the tightest game of the day by besting the Gotham Goats 6-5.  Kevin Mahony led Dirt with 2 goals.

The LAS middies tag teaming it down the field.

Team Jug knocked off Team America 11-3 behind a huge 4 goal, 2 assist effort by Peter Whitcomb.  Robert Trasolini and Stephen Pascone each had 1 and 1 for Jug as well.

Box helmet, old man leg brace, all lefty? check. check. check.

Teamitup is alone at the top of the league but Dirt McGirt is sitting at 4-1 (with their sole loss coming at the hands of LAS).  Team Jug and the Gotham Goats are 3-2 while LAS and Team Duh? are 2-3.  Team Duh? won the head to head with LAS earlier this season.  Team America is 1-5 and plays LAS next week and Those Bad Johnnies are still winless… they play Team Jug next week.

LAS running that 2-2-2 to near perfection.

Briggs Thompson is still at the top of the points board with 14 points.  Joe Barile used his 4 goals this past weekend to jump to second with 11 points, tying him with Robert Trasolini.  4 players, Chris Born, Matt Paster, Terence Hagerty and yours truly are tied with 10 points to take up the 4-7 slots. Five of the next 7 players leading the league in points are on TeamitUp. Proof of their depth and how the can spread the ball nicely.

Getting a little extra action in, post-my game. Purple = Red, right?

Brandon Baer of Teamitup is still leading the league in save percentage at 67%, but Vinnie Ricasio is quickly climbing the ladder coming in 3rd behind Matthew Flannery.

Teamitup is doing fine. Just fine.

One Slippery Game of Box Lacrosse

ULax's NYC box lacrosse league is going strong throughout the Winter, and we played this past weekend even though the sport court floor we use was just a little wet and slippery. Lots of guys fell over (as in everyone fell at least once), we got the games in, and had some fun. Now you get to see us slip and fall all over the place, because why not?
