Hey guys, my name is Justin Skaggs, and I’m the lead stick maker at WoodLacrosseSticks.com, and this week, I want to give you a special next installment in the WLS Color Series. It has to do with a great lacrosse program up in the great state of Ohio. So first of all, I wanna take a moment to congratulate Andy German. He is the second head coach in the history of the Cleveland State Lacrosse Program, and he is someone who I think is doing a fantastic job. This stick is going to him.
So, since the Cleveland State Vikings logo is so detailed, this is the kind of project where you take a look at all the logos, and you have to make a tough decision. And that is, “Do I go monochromatic or do I try to put in colored accents into the Vikings’ horns?” I definitely did the right thing because, in the end, I chose just to find the exact correct shade of green, which was a dark, yet pale shade of green, and just kind of stuck to that, and I’m really happy that I did.
I think the Viking logo came out really vibrant, even though I did have to pull a couple of little pieces of his horns and stuff out in Adobe Illustrator before I engraved it so that it turned out just right. I am incredibly happy with it, because all of that green makes it a really nice, beautiful, bold sidewall.
I’d like to end this video by giving a special congratulations to Andy German. He is an exceptional young man who definitely deserves all the success that he has, and I’m very excited to see what he does with this program. Until next time in the WLS Color Series, Go Vikings, Take Care… And keep LAXin’.
