Hey everyone, I’m Justin Skaggs and I’m very proud to bring you the second edition of the Color Series by Wood Lacrosse Sticks. The first edition of the Color Series was done as an experiment, as I did this very beautiful blue gut wall and blue monochromatic color scheme. This time, I was actually contacted by Cradle Lacrosse, so this will be kind of sponsored by Cradle Lacrosse since they were the ones who gave me the idea, and the avenue I went down for this second edition of the series.
Cradle Lacrosse has a really cool color scheme. It’s all crimson red and navy blue, which looks really collegiate and very clean. Their font structure is also very collegiate and very clean as well. These are gifts for the three big heads over at the PLL, Mike Rabil, Paul Rabil and Andrew Sinnenberg, because they have a contract with them and wanted to give them a thank you present. I jumped right at it because it seemed like a really cool and kind of abstract way to bring the Color Series into a gift format. I knew where the sticks were going and I knew who they were going to, and that was really intriguing to me.
The crimson color that I chose came off really sharp. When using the blue dye previously, I had a bit of trouble keeping the color light, as to not appear black. This time, the red came out the perfect pitch, with the color not appearing too dark over time. I’m definitely going to implement that into an upcoming personal project of mine which I’ve been considering, and I’ll bring that out to you guys soon.
