wpll - women's professional lacrosse leagueThe girls Committed Academy, taking place July 6-8 at Goucher College in Baltimore, is open to female high school players committed to playing Division I college lacrosse. Players are invited to represent their future college team while competing against their future college rivals. In its second year, the Epoch ILWomen Committed Academy offers the opportunity for high school-aged players to improve on and off the field while forging the valuable personal relationships with teammates that will last a lifetime.

We’re thrilled to work with the WPLL to enhance the experience of all attendees of the Epoch ILWomen Committed Academy. In addition to having a front row seat watching the best players in the world compete, Committed Academy participants will have a chance to interact with WPLL players throughout the weekend and understand better what it means to aspire to play lacrosse at the highest level.

The Committed Academy will host two WPLL games on the first evening of the Committed Academy, Friday, July 6th. The first game will feature the Baltimore Brave vs. the Upstate Pride at 5:30 p.m. The nightcap will pit the Philadelphia Fire against the New York Fight following game at 7:30 p.m. As part of the partnership, Inside Lacrosse and Epoch Lacrosse will make the pro games free to all participants, family and friends.

The WPLL is excited to partner with Inside Lacrosse Committed Academy for this inaugural season and powerful double header. IL Committed Academy is host to the nation’s rising talent, whose likes we look forward to watching throughout their collegiate careers. We are enthused by the great forum that the IL Committed Academy has provided to connect the Future of the WPLL with the Pros of today.

– Jen Adams, WPLL Commissioner

Some of the players who will compete for the WPLL this summer are: Taylor Cummings (University of Maryland, NY Fight), Dana Dobbie (Maryland, Baltimore Brave), Hannah Nielsen (Northwestern, Philadelphia Fire) and Caylee Waters (North Carolina, Philadelphia Fire). College graduates will be added to the teams once they become eligible.

In addition to the WPLL’s doubleheader, several WPLL professional players will be on the coaching staff of the Committed Academy to mentor and train the participants throughout the weekend. A skills training session, led by Taylor Cummings Lacrosse and featuring several WPLL players, is scheduled for Committed Academy participants on Saturday evening.
