Music Monday: Easter Monday

Editor’s Note: Please welcome Nate Fritts to the Lacrosse All Stars! After spending a lot of time with Nate on the Rhino Lacrosse Camp Tour a couple summers back, we quickly came to respect his passion for all things music and immediately knew he would be our man for Music Monday. Nate hales from Portland, Oregon, played at Bowdoin College (NESCAC) in Maine, and now resides in Boston, MA where he researches concussions and brain diseases when he’s not laxing.

Nothing like some good old Robin Williams to celebrate April Fool’s Day. Psyche! That was Craig “Radioman” Castaldo, come on guys. Anyway, as much as we wanted to post seven different links to Luda’s “Act A Fool” in honor of this inglorious holiday, we decided to be kinder and bring you some brand new tunes to start the shower month off right.

Drop City Yacht Club – “Crickets (feat. Jeremih)”

Let me introduce to you the new group Drop City Yacht Club (not to be confused with mega rap group All City Chess Club) out of San Francisco, CA. “Crickets” is apparently the first official single from this SF-based hip hop crew formerly known as The Freshmen, and it packs an appropriately upbeat sound for spring. If you hop on https://www.dropcityyachtclub.com/ you’ll find more info from the band including a link to their mixtape, Ode To Freshman Year, which features a collection of rappier tracks.

Barenaked Ladies – “Boomerang”

We brought you a group of new artists with DCYC, so it’s only appropriate to follow them up with a throwback name. The Barenaked Ladies have always been tough to resist, and they just recently released this single to get back on the scene. I’ve personally never been let down by Barenaked Ladies and I think most listeners out there will enjoy this new jam that does not surprise in any way – unless of course you thought that BNL had lost their touch. On a side note: as “Boomerang” reminds you, never forget the importance of the follow through, in sweet lax and in life. Keep ripping, my friends.
