One of the many annual highlights of the Ales Hrebesky Memorial box lacrosse tournament, going on RIGHT NOW in the Czech Republic, is the All-Star game. Players from each of the non-Czech teams are selected to represent the tourney All-Star team, and they play the Czech national team, which is obviously comprised of players from the Czech club teams.
The games are often quite close, and almost always intense and spirited. I spoke to a number of guys who had played in the ASG in the past, and to a man, each one remarked how it was one of, if not THE, best games of their lives.
The non-lacrosse playing crowd on hand is usually quite large, and is always decidedly pro-Czech, which makes complete sense, but the fans cheer for a great game overall, and the AHM All-Star game does not disappoint in any way.

For a quick tourney update… My squad, Love You To Death, lost to the Boston Megamen, 6-3 in our quarterfinal game. Hats off to Boston as they really focused on the tasks at hand, and gave us a great game. It was a ton of fun. The Megamen meet the Nova Scotia Privateers in one semifinal, and home side LCC Radotin will play the Green Gaels. Both should be excellent games!
