We showed off a Team LAS/Warhawk highlight earlier today, along with some film of a promising NYC High School lacrosse player, and now it’s time for the photo deluge. We’ve got around 200 up on our facebook page, and we picked out a bunch of our favorites for this post. But before we get to the photos, I’d like to share a quick message I got from one of our opponents this weekend.
William Ortoleva, of the Real Americans, had this to say,
“The CityLax Shootout was an awesome experience! As a teacher in CT, it felt extra special knowing that we were raising money for kids who attend schools in NYC. Playing on the Real Americans with friends was a lot of fun. This was our first time playing together as the Real Americans, but not our first time playing together. We’re definitely going to keep this team together as a tournament team and look forward to the CityLax tourney next year too! Some of the college grads on our team were from Sacred Heart (me), Manhattan, Nazareth, Quinnipiac, and Vanderbuilt, just to name a few. The atmosphere of the tournament couldn’t be better! The competition and level of play was great! Rarely did you see complaining, scuffles, and “Debbie Downer” laxers. Both the players and the refs did a great job with sportsmanship and it ran extra smooth! Lastly, the beach party afterwards was fantastic! What could beat coolers of Coors, pizza, subs, and huge waves crashing into the Hamptons sand? 10 out of 10 tourney! And like it said on our shorts, “Turn Up The Weird”, which is just what we did!
Like I said, it’s a fun time for a great cause. So if you don’t come out to the Hamptons in 2012 for yourself, at least do it #forthekids. Con Bro Chill would approve. Now on to the photo mastery by Rachel Cohen! Full set is on our Facebook Page!
