Could You Survive an NLL Training Camp?

The NLL looks like a rough go. Even training camp seems somewhat brutal. I like it, but it’s definitely for tough guys, or at least guys who can take a serious beating. The stick work is also impressive, and after playing a couple of seasons of recreational club ball, I can begin to appreciate it more and more.

I can only imagine what a rush of information, mistakes and learning the last week or so has been for those making their first transition to the box game. It’s a bit of a whirlwind out there if you’re not used to it. It feels right, but not quite, and when the other guys are that good… it shows.

Very cool perspective on what it’s like just trying to make an NLL team, let alone actually play for one.

  • I tried out for the old Washington Power back in 2002. I got cut after 2 weeks and 1 concussion. I had no business being on the field with those guys.
