Fight: Calgary Midgets

Here’s an interesting fight that recently popped up on YouTube. These midgets (15 & 16 year olds) from the Calgary District Lacrosse Association are into it. Perfect age to learn how to fight, right?

  • if they keep playing boxla, they will have to learn how to fight eventually.
I'd rather have 2 15 year olds fighting each other as their first experience than an 18 year old who has never been in a fight taking on a guy like Geoff Snider… the question is, how long can we baby our kids? I think being able to fight is perfect for kids entering the HS age bracket as it gives them some time before they hit the next level, where fighting is just part of the game.

  • I don't think it's a matter of letting. I know my coaches didn't like when we did it and certainly didn't encourage it.

As for the refs, the first thing you are taught when breaking up a fight is make sure you are protected unless it's absolutely imparative that you break it up.. Last thing you need is to get clocked with a haymaker while trying to break up a fight.

  • yo we actually need to start fighting in midget more well the major midgets should since the next year its jr's that their gonna be playing and fighting is a big part of the game at that level. Im actually surprised I dont see more fights in midget
