Jacksonville U

I decided to start my coaching career at Jacksonville University. I’m extraordinarily proud to be the First Assistant Coach and Offensive Coordinator to John Galloway, a former Syracuse goaltender.

First of all, few lacrosse historians know how qualified John Galloway is for that job.  “JG” was the first 2 time First Team All American goalie in Syracuse history and he holds the NCAA record for career wins with 59 and minutes played with 3,776.  Imagine how much time he has spent thinking about lacrosse?

He is the only goalie in NCAA history to win national championships in his freshman and sophomore years (’08, ’09) and in case you thought he was just another brick wall with a pretty face – he was also a two-time national academic All-American.

Our head coach graduated from Syracuse in 2011 and started blazing a path in Major League Lacrosse.  He picked up a Rookie of the Year award as a Rochester Rattlers to get started, earned MLL Goaltender of the Year in 2014 but one of the real reason’s I am excited to take our passion for the game down to Florida together – is because as a graduate of West Genesee High School – John is a pure bred NEW YORK STATE lax rat like me.

He’s got the NCAA experience which I am just beginning to build but he was trained on proper moral battle fields at Providence and Duke under great leaders of the game.  Most importantly, I am looking forward to working with such a well-grounded individual.

Under the tutelage of Chris Gabrielli and John Danowski, I learned what it meant to lead a life with a steel moral compass. I am forever grateful for their time and patience as I grow into the man I am today.

That’s all for now from Florida.
