While the Duel in Denver was occupying most of the US lacrosse community’s attention, their counterparts in Canada have been enjoying that, and so much more! The Mann Cup is the culmination of the Summer box lacrosse scene North of the border and it pits the winner of the WLA and MSL in a best of seven series.
(EN: Looks like the original video was taken down. Lame. Here is a Mann Cup Prep video instead.)
Guys like John Grant Junior played on Friday night in Game 1, then in the Duel in Denver on Saturday, and then again on Sunday in Game 2. The somewhat old man has STILL got it in a major way.
The Langley Thunder won the game 15-14 in an overtime thriller, and had to come back from a 12-11 deficit late in the game to force the extra period. Mann Cup games play overtime periods, not sudden death. Otherwise what was described above wouldn’t be possible. Now you know.
