Special Announcement: 2012 Grow The Game Tour

Last night we launched a fundraiser for the Grow The Game Tour, and I could not be more excited about this project! The Tour is an idea we’ve been carrying around for the past few years. It’s about giving back to the game of lacrosse and encouraging fans and players everywhere to represent the sport to the fullest.

Here’s the driving force behind the GTG Tour:

  • We started LaxAllStars.com because we love
lacrosse and we believed there was a real need
    for a website like ours.
    ~
  • Since we launched in 2008 with one mission,
our site & the sport have grown like crazy.
    ~
  • Lacrosse is now at a place in which it needs
    special attention to grow successfully.
    ~
  • We are determined to help guide it.

Why a fundraiser?

Through this fundraiser, we are able to give thousands
of lacrosse fans the opportunity make a difference in
our sport and help us promote what we all know to be
the best sport in the world. So, if you love lax like we
love it, here is your big chance to help promote it!

There are a lot of laxers out there who want to spread
the sport in their community, but not many have the
time to take action. Being an athlete or a coach is a
busy job, so the lack of time kind of runs with the
territory. Here at LAS, we have the time to make it
happen, but we want you to help steer us in the right
direction.

We are raising a minimum of $12,000 to travel the country and throw GTG Celebrations with passionate lacrosse communities. Celebrations include:

  • a tailgate style BBQ with real lacrosse all stars
  • a GTG Clinic
  • an Equipment Drive
  • other fun activities for male and female lacrosse lovers of all ages
  • (the more we raise, the better each town’s celebration will be!)

We’ll immerse ourselves in every community and showcase our experience on LaxAllStars.com for the world to see. Our first stop is Denver, Colorado on September 8th for the Duel In Denver, where Team USA takes on Team Canada. The other stops on the tour are up to YOU!

Here are a few things you should know about the GTG Tour:

Things You Should Know

$12,000 will help get us to 6 locations in the Western United States. There will be a very good reason for every location we go to because lacrosse fans worldwide have a say in deciding each of our stops. Every dollar you contribute counts as a vote for your favorite town. If we exceed our original goal of $12,000, we will expand our plans for each event and extend the GTG Tour to visit more locations in other regions.

How can I contribute?

YOU can help us grow the game by contributing funds through our fundraiser page on IndieGoGo. Indiegogo is a crowdfunding platform like Kickstarter, but more open to sports and grassroots causes.

Contributing funds to the GTG Tour is incredibly easy. Once you’re on the fundraiser page, Simply click “Contribute Now” and select a perk (think of it as a free gift!) that matches your budget and intention. Your contribution can be made via credit card or PayPal, and the giving process is equivalent to making a simple online shopping purchase.

Upon making a contribution, you have helped fund the GTG Tour and put forth an effort to grow the game.

So what’s next?

We will be running this fundraising campaign throughout the month of August. You are guaranteed to see and hear a lot about it between now and then, and hopefully you’re okay with that because it’s all about growing the game.

Grow The Game Tour: Celebrate

The fundraiser ends on September 3rd, at which time we’ll scramble to get things set up and ready for a Fall 2012 tour. The amount of money we raise will determine the length of time we travel and the number of additional stops we make. Plus, it will also determine whether or not we have a fog machine at each location (kidding).

Throughout the tour, we’ll provide constant updates and legitimately showcase every town we visit. We’ll shout “Grow The Game!” from a megaphone and pass out stickers at every pit stop, and we’ll do our absolute best to promote the sport to the fullest every moment of every day.

Thank you for your time and consideration.
