Both the Salt Shakerz and LaxAllStars.com got some film of the first annual Salt Shakerz Invitational, and while neither team made the Semifinals (don’t worry, we still have tons of video of that and the Finals!), it sure looks like they had fun! I actually know the LAS team had fun, because I was on it. We went 1-2, losing both games by 2 goals or less. We got stellar face off play from Nick Saputo, Greg Rose was flying all over the place, and Bobby Whitmarsh was great in cage. Actually all 4 of our Long Island teenagers were impressive.

It was really great to get back out and play with a couple of Wesleyan alums in Alex Kaufman, Chris Knacke, and Ed Yoo and a couple brothers of Wesleyan lacrosse players in Andrew Wilcox (Amherst), and Sean Wheeler (Kenyon). We also got great play from a number of Citylax graduates and the wheels have definitely been set in motion to help these guys get a Summer training program going.
We went with the flipcam… the Shakerz? They went helmet cam. And man, oh man, did they go helmet cam! You either love it or you hate it… I love it. Up close and personal! The tournament was a rousing success and we’ll be back soon with more video, and photos. But that will be of the semi-finals and finals… Some great action coming up!
