Editor’s note: The Idaho Vandals are an MCLA D1 team, competing in the Pacific Northwest Conference. Krieg Shaw, a senior midfielder, will be contributing photos on a weekly basis all season long. Check out all of the Vandal Shots photo blogs.

Isn’t there an old proverb about March going out like a lamb? It seemed more like a lion from up here… thanks  to Mother Nature, we missed out on playing Washington because of a sweet snowstorm that brought in an ungodly amount of snow for this time of year in the passes.

We were forced to stay in Moscow last weekend instead of crossing over Washington to play UW. Pretty bummed about it, it had the makings to be a great game between our two teams.

Not going is better than worrying about crap like this…

Now though, we are completely focused on one thing. The two weeks before the game we are using every opportunity we have to put in as many hours as possible watching film, practicing, doing footwork and spending as much time with a lacrosse stick in our hands as possible.

April 17th at 6 pm on the Sprinturf. Be there.

We’ve been waiting for this day since around 3 pm on April 19th of last year when we lost 12-9 to them. This game is huge for us, even outside the fact that it is a rivalry game. With a win here we guarantee our team’s first playoff berth ever and with it, home field advantage for a game the following week.

Love that Sprinturf…

Without trying to sound like a broken record, I’ll direct to our friend back east: https://412.laxallstars.com/on-missing-out/

Luckily for Idaho, we only have three seniors this year; this’ll be great for continuing the growth of our program and to hopefully to continue the success we have had this year.

But I digress, for us three seniors, I feel it is safe to say that we all feel just as that post describes, which only makes us hungrier and more driven to prepare ourselves for this game.

You may say that last year’s loss was our Apollo dying; we’ve been training hard this year.

Despite the other bigger games our program has had this year and the new competition we have played, we have always had this game on our mind, every extra sprint, early morning footwork session or hour outside of practice shooting was to prepare ourselves that much more for this game.

Unfortunately for your viewing entertainment, we haven’t been up to many shenanigans lately, thanks to getting ready for the game next week( which by no means am I upset with). But there is a lack of new pictures for this week. I didn’t think y’all would want to see my trip with the girlfriend to see The Last Song and the hail and sideways rain we’ve had is no better.

Here’s hoping for a nice ole donkey punch next Saturday night.

Oh, on a side note, 412 already threw this up for us, but what do y’all think about the gear featured below. We are trying to decide on the best look for Scallywags this summer.

I’m leaning towards C or D
