Meet America’s Next Lacrosse Stars: 2015 HS All-Americans and U19 US National Team

The 2015 Under Armour All-American Game took place this past weekend and if you didn’t watch it, you definitely should find a way (it’s on ESPN 3 replays). The game was full of flashy plays by a ton of players, including long poles. This year we didn’t see just a couple of players take over, the level of play was at an elite level that we don’t always get to see.

This isn’t the only high level high school lacrosse going on this summer; Ohio State head coach, Nick Myers, is the heading the US Men’s U19 Team. The tryout process is down to 50 guys, these players are definitely going to be the next lacrosse stars.

Below is the list of the players who were named 2015 High School All-Americans and are also competing for a spot among the 50-man Team USA roster, some of them also played in the Under Armour game.

Michael Sowers (Princeton 2016)

Upper Dublin (Pa.) Attack

At first when you see Michael you may not believe this under-sized attackman is committed to Princeton. Registering at only 5’6” and 140 pounds, he’s definitely not the biggest guy on the field. Worry not, as Michael uses this to his advantage and surprises the opposition with his lateral quickness and speed that is clear in his highlight video.

Grant Ament (Penn State 2015)

Haverford (Pa.) Attack

Grant’s known for his on-field vision and pinpoint passing; and has accumulated 110 points (37 goals, 73 assists) as a leader at Haverford School. His team finished the year 26-0 and were atop the Nike/LM High Schools Boys Top 25 and were named the All-USA Boys Lacrosse Team of the Year.

Grant also played in the Under Armour All-American game, finishing with 1 goal and 1 assist. Check out his Hudl page to see the kid in action.

Timmy Monahan (Maryland 2015)

Gonzaga (Md.) Attack

Timmy helped lead his team to their 6th straight WCAC Championship. They played some of the top teams in the country, like Boys Latin, and came out on top. He led the Eagles with 64 goals and finished second in assists with 22.

In the Under Armour All-American game Timmy also punched in three goals and two assists. He can create his own shot, create a shot for a teammate, and definitely can finish from outside. He is an all around top-notch player and should be exciting to watch as a Terrapin.

Dox Aitken (Virginia 2016)

Haverford (Pa.) Midfield

Dox is one of the most talented players to make up a very powerful team and had 46 goals and 7 assists. He has a cannon for a shot and can score goals in bunches.

He had 5 goals to help his team sneak away with a win against Gilman. Check out the highlight tape on his Hudl page.

Jack Jasinski (Ohio State 2015)

Oak Mountain (Ala.) Midfield

Jack is from non-hotbed Alabama where lacrosse isn’t a sanctioned sport. This can make it tough for someone to get their name out, but Jack went to multiple camps and showcases to show the big dogs what he was made of.

Jack has also been putting many hours in on his own to keep up with all the kids living in more lacrosse-saturated areas who get to play year round. It will be a treat to see what he can do at Ohio State, hopefully using his story and experience to help Alabama grow the game.

Matthew Moore (Virginia 2017)

Garnett Valley (Pa.) Midfield

Matt led his team with 44 goals and 33 assists. He was named and All-American and Central League co-League MVP. As a sophomore he scored 7 goals against Springford in the District 1 semifinal. It will be exciting to see what he can do in his next two years at Garnett Valley.

Drew Supinski (Johns Hopkins 2015)

Haverford (Pa.) Midfield

Drew was a captain for Haverford School that was ranked No. 1 overall for high school boys in the US at the end of the season. Known for busting his butt, it was no surprise Drew earned Haverford School Player of the Year honors. Drew also played in the Under Armour All-American game and finished with 1 goal.

Kevin Quigley (Duke 2016)

Ridge (N.J.) Midfield

Kevin received 1st team All-Junior honors. Kevin was punching in hat tricks as a freshman at Ridge in Jersey, this kid was unstoppable from day 1.

Dylan Johnson (Denver 2015)

Cherry Creek (Colo.) Defense

Dylan’s aggressive and high pressuring defense helped lead his team to a 18-1 record this season. He tallied 51 ground balls this season along with 10 goals and 21 assists.

Cherry Creek made the Colorado State Championship game all 4 years that Dylan was on the team. He received All-Conference and All-State honors and participated in the Under Armour All-American game.

Noah Lejman (Penn 2015)

Haverford (Pa.) Defense

This 6’5″ monster was the rock for the Haverford’s defense and helped lead them to an undefeated season. Haverford also took home the Inter-Ac regular season and challenge title. Only three teams were able to tally more than ten points against Haverford.

Lejman also had three goals last season, one coming in the 1st quarter of the Inter-Ac title game. Noah also participated in the Under Armour All-American game and you can his highlights on his Hudl page.

Jack Rapine (Johns Hopkins 2016)

Upper Dublin (Pa.) Defense

Jack is an all around solid D-pole and great pick-up for Hopkins. He plays good on-ball defense, creates takeaways when possible, and is comfortable with the ball. There are multiple times in his highlight tape where he takes the ball away, pushes it, and scores himself or sets up one of his teammates.

Last season he had 85 ground balls, 9 goals, and 6 assists. Dang.

Jack Rowlett (North Carolina 2015)

Robinson (Va.) Defense

Everyone needs to be aware of where this kid is on the field. Whether on offense or defense, he will make you pay if you lose him. Jack is able to take the ball away anywhere on the field and has an outside rip that I haven’t seen from many poles.

Jack helped lead his team to a 21-2 record and also had 2 goals in the Under Armour All-American game.

Christian Feliziani (Ohio State 2016)

Episcopal Academy (Pa.) Faceoff

Last, but not least, Christian Feliziani destroyed his opponents at the face-off X winning 75% of the time. His best performances were 14 out of 15 against Springside Chestnut Hill and 18 our of 22 against Malvern Prep.

Only time can tell if he can duplicate or get even better numbers in 2016 and then after becoming a Buckeye. Check his Hudl page to watch him go off.
