Today on the show we have the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at the Naval Academy, Cindy Timchal.
Coach Timchal is on her twelfth season at Navy. Since bringing the program to Division I Navy has won six Patriot League Championships, has appeared in six NCAA tournaments, they made it to the Elite 8 in 2018, and in 2017 they became the first service academy team for a women’s sport to make it to the final four.
Before coming to Navy Coach Timchal was the head coach at Maryland. During her time at Maryland, the Terps won seven NCAA championships in a row, eight in total. She’s been a national coach of the year twice, a four-time ACC Coach of the Year, and she’s been inducted into the Delaware County Sports Hall of Fame.
Coach and I got a chance to talk about a lot of different things like developing a culture of competitiveness, team concepts, pre-practice, and much more.
