Coach Pietramala Joins Legendary Sports Group

Legendary Sports Group (LSG) announced Thursday the hiring of National Lacrosse Hall of Fame Coach, Dave Pietramala, as Lacrosse Advisor to direct the company’s lacrosse division.  Pietramala, along with Sr. Lacrosse Advisor and fellow Hall of Fame Coach Dave Cottle, will spearhead LSG’s lacrosse offerings across the country.

“I am thrilled to join the Legendary Sports Group family.  It’s my privilege to be working alongside Brendan Kelly and Dave Cottle. Two gentlemen that have been highly successful. I am very excited to remain closely connected to the game and its players and look forward to collaborating with the LSG team as we work to create new and innovative ideas within lacrosse,” said Pietramala.

Pietramala spent the last 19 seasons as Head Coach of the famed Johns Hopkins University lacrosse program.  His success at Hopkins resulted in 18 trips to the NCAA Division I playoffs including, seven semifinals appearances, four finals appearances and two NCAA National Championships in 2005 and 2007.  He has produced 93 All-Americans during his coaching tenure at Johns Hopkins.

Many in the sport consider Pietramala one of the best defensemen to ever play the game.  A three-time First Team All-American at Johns Hopkins, Pietramala won the NCAA title in 1987 as a player and was the recipient of the Schmeisser Award in 1988 and 1989 as the nation’s most outstanding defensemen in addition to be named the nation’s most outstanding player in 1989 and earning the Lt. Raymond Enners Award.

“Hiring Coach Pietramala is a massive step for the future of LSG and our lacrosse offerings.  Nobody is more respected in the game than Coach Petro and his wealth of experience as a Hall of Fame player, coach and ambassador for the game of lacrosse is a huge asset for our business as we grow new events in the space,” said CEO of Legendary Sports Group, Brendan Kelly.

Pietramala will lead LSG’s lacrosse division and will develop and create new lacrosse properties including tournaments, clinics, player development programs and high school recruiting assistance.  Working alongside Cottle, LSG will be announcing brand new opportunities for youth players with the goal of skill development, exposure and NCAA recruiting guidance.
