D1 Lacrosse Bets – Week 3

The lacrosse season is officially upon us and we’re looking forward to bringing you our three favorite bets each week. We aren’t affiliated with any sportsbook or gambling website but we will be using lines sourced from DraftKings. Without further adieu, my week 3 picks:

Loyola (-1.5) vs Rutgers

I expect this one to be tight until the very end but to be honest I just haven’t been impressed with Rutgers this season. Yes they are 2-1 narrowly escaping Lehigh and beating Stony Brook by four, but they have yet to truly look impressive. Meanwhile Loyola smashed Georgetown and was competitive with two top-10 teams. Giving the edge to the Greyhounds today.

Michigan (-4) vs Marquette

After a tough loss to Virginia Michigan has been terrorizing the easier part of their schedule. Marquette, similarly, dominated three subpar teams before losing to #1 Notre Dame. Michigan has the offensive depth to really stretch that Marquette D and should have an advantage at faceoff. If the Wolverine midfielders can score 4-6 goals this should be an easy cover for the boys in blue.

Virginia (-7.5) vs Ohio State

The Cavaliers are an unstoppable force with no clear weaknesses. Meanwhile the Buckeyes are 4-0 but lack a marquee win. I’m concerned that Buckeyes will be able to score enough to be remotely competitive and on the other end I dont think they have the defensive depth to handle Virginia.

Fall Ball is about two things: 1) building for the Spring, and 2) hopefully, staying out of trouble. Some programs have been doing a great job with #1 and #2, while others are struggling with at least one part of the equation.
