The 2018 FIL World Lacrosse Championships was monumental in many ways, and Lacrosse All Stars gave you a dynamic front-row seat to the action with interviews including Ege Zeybeck, a member of Team Turkey and leading point-scorer at the tournament at the time of the interview.
It was the first time the games had been hosted in a non-English speaking country. Ever. It was also the best participation at a world games with 46 countries participating.
LaxAllStars was there to bring you all of the coverage. Over the next few weeks, we will be reliving the top moments and memories from world championships. Follow along as we bring you exclusive interviews, photos, highlight videos and more.
We’d like to thank our friends at SISU Mouthguards for their support of our coverage at the world games. Be sure to check out their site and consider buying one of their products.
Today, we are bringing you an interview with Team Turkey member Ege Zeybeck. Ege, whose parents both immigrated from Turkey, grew up in New Jersey and has been playing lacrosse for Team Turkey since he was eligible. He played at the European box lacrosse championships for Turkey, and had been tearing it up at the world games in Israel.
Host Josh Hawkins talks with Ege about playing as a high schooler with grown men, the unique aspect of him being a leader on the team, even though he is considerably younger than most of his teammates and what it means to play for Turkey.
Be sure to stay tuned for future interviews, highlight videos and photos we release in the coming days and weeks.
