On Day 3 of the Vail Lacrosse Shootout action, the Elder Statesmen declared themselves dominant over the field yet again and the stage has been set for the semifinals in other divisions. Here’s the rundown of what happened Monday:
Elder Statesmen Dominate in Vail
The third day of the 2021 Vail Lacrosse Shootout was another one full of multi-generational lacrosse. The U19 girls continued with their second day of pool play, while the U19 boys began bracket play with quarterfinal games in Division 1. They will continue with semi-finals tomorrow.
The Supermaster, Grandmaster, and Zenmaster men’s teams closed the book on their 2021 tournaments with championship games today. The Statesmen fought and won to sweep the tournament once again. In Supermasters, the Elder Statesmen took on the Magic Wands in another heated matchup between the two teams. The Elder Statesmen came out on top with a score of 10-7. The Elder Statesmen Grandmaster team took on EMW beating them 10-6. The Zenmasters championship was a battle between the Eldest Statesmen and Los Abuelos de Tejas, with the Statesmen taking home another win at 9-5.
