Get ready for a Hofstra – Boston College NCAA Women’s Lacrosse matchup that pits two teams that have hovered just outside of the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll — Boston College did take the No. 5 ranking in the preseason but fell out in the Week 3 poll —all season against each other in what should be an exciting matchup.
Hofstra – Boston College: Lacrosse All Stars Game Of The Day — NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Matchup
The Matchup
Boston College has had to replace three legitimate Tewaaraton contenders in Kenzie Kent, Dempsey Arsenault and Sam Apuzzo (who did win the Tewaaraton in 2018). The Eagles have had wins over Boston University, Vanderbilt and Brown, while also having given up losses to UMass, USC and Notre Dame. Charlotte North has been averaging 4.5 points per game after transferring from Duke for this season.
The bottom line is that Boston College has beaten every team it has faced who hasn’t been ranked at any point this season, while having lost to every team who has spent at least one week in the top 20 poll. If Boston College wants to start solidifying itself moving forward, it will need to get some of those top 20 wins in order to help build more confidence and success.
The Seawolves are in the exact same boat. Hofstra has losses to both USC and Maryland, while having beaten Bucknell, Wagner, Fairfield and Johns Hopkins.
The two teams don’t currently have any comparable opponents, but find themselves in similar situations in what should be a must-win game for both teams if they want to help strengthen their case for postseason play.
