Joel White: From ‘Preferred Walk-On’ to the Nations Top Midfielder

Today on the show we have Joel White.

Joel White is an alumnus of Syracuse University where he was a 3x All-American and a first-team all-American his Junior and Senior year. He was also a Tewaraaton trophy finalist those years as well as winning the McLaughlin award for the nations best midfielder. This made him the first defensemen to ever win that award. He also won 2 national championships during his time at Syracuse.

Joel White: Game Changer

Joel White played in the MLL for the Dallas Rattlers, and has been announced to be playing in the new Premier Lacrosse League. He’s a 3-time MLL All-Star and was the Warrior Defensive Player of the Year in 2016.

Most recently, he won a gold medal as part of Team USA in Israel this summer.

Joel and I got to talk about how get got started as a long stick midfielder, how he went from being a “preferred walk-on” as he put it to the best midfielder in the nation during his time in college, how he learned to play the mistake, and much more.
