Mitch Belisle Breaks Down His ’09 Boston Blazers Highlights

Editor’s Note: Trilogy Lacrosse, a Lacrosse All Stars partner, released a new series titled “Trilogy Lacrosse Theatre” to take a look back at memorable lacrosse moments caught on film that feature different members of the Trilogy crew. Episode 2 features Mitch Belisle breaking down his 2009 NLL highlight tape. Enjoy.

Who is Mitch Belisle?

Belisle is the VP of Sales & Marketing at Trilogy and since his retirement as a player he’s become a commentator for the NLL. Barely removed from the playing field, Belisle was one of the most tenacious and physically fit defenseman to go to work in the both the MLL and NLL after a decorated college career at Cornell. Before he traded a helmet for a headset, Belisle captured a few trophies to hold above his head and a gold medal to show for an illustrious career.

  • Team USA 2014
  • MLL 2007 – 2019
  • NLL 2008 – 2019
  • MLL Champion 2011
  • NLL Champion 2017
  • 3x MLL All Star 2011, 2014, 2015
  • NCAA Division I Defenseman of the Year 2007
  • 2x All-American at Cornell 2006 & 2007
  • 2x All-Ivy League
  • Lowe’s Senior CLASS finalist 2007
  • Mario St. George Boiardi Leadership Award 2007

What’s on the Tube?

The duo of Mitch Belisle and Ryan Boyle reverse roles this week as Boyle guides Mitch through some old NLL tapes. Remember, Mitch is a defenseman so if you’re coming for goals, see you later. It was the first year for the (now defunct) Boston Blazers and Belisle was one of five Americans on the squad. Coming out of his rookie season with the (also defunct) New York Titans, Belisle was a monster for Boston, racking up three goals, four assists and 104 looseballs in his sophomore campaign.

Like watching bodies get crushed? Us too. Enjoy.
