Music Monday: Turn Up The Summer!

Editor’s Note: Please welcome Nate Fritts to the Lacrosse All Stars! This isn’t his first time on the site of course, we had the pleasure of meeting Nate on the Rhino Lacrosse Camp Tour a couple summers back. Nate hales from Portland, Oregon, played at Bowdoin College (NESCAC) in Maine, and now resides in Boston, MA where he researches concussions and brain diseases when he’s not laxing.

The A/C units are selling like Razor scooters in 2000 and the sundresses are making a comeback! Lax tourneys and solo cups are filling up and so is my music library – it seems like everyone wants to release the first big summer jam of 2013. We’re turning up the good vibes and you should be turning up the volume with this week’s Music Monday!

Willy Moon – “Yeah Yeah”

Recognize this song? “Yeah Yeah” was the song featured on Apple’s line of iPod commercials late last year with those crazy bouncing, splashing iPods. Well, New Zealand-born Willy Moon just released this new album, Here’s Willy Moon (2013), which features this previously popularized song. This one comes with a pretty ridiculous music video and Willy Moon just dancing around with some respectable 50’s swag. If you like this song, go check out others on this album like “What I Want” and “Get Up (What You Need).”

Far East Movement – “The Illest (feat. Riff Raff)” [Explicit]

I’m not going to lie, I don’t think I’ve listened to a Far East Movement song since “Like a G6” came out. Luckily, a midst the crazy amount of new music being released to start the summer, this one found my ears and is making its way to you. I’m pretty sure this song would be a banger even without any lyrics and I cannot wait to here this song on repeat at the Bigfoot Summer Bender tourney later this month [why not?]. Also, is it just me or are Riff Raff and James Franco in Spring Breakers the same person?
