NLL Power Rankings: Week 12

We have a new (but not surprising) No. 1 this week in the NLL Power Rankings, as Buffalo unanimously claims the throne after a 16-9 trouncing of Rochester. Toronto dips back to the No. 2 spot after losing to New England 13-11 at Mohegan Sun on Sunday afternoon. Rounding out the top 5 in our NLL Power Rankings, Georgia had a bye week at their disposal to try and right the ship, and No. 5 Saskatchewan moves up a spot in our rankings after downing Colorado at home 9-7 (easier said than done, though, as Colorado’s Dillon Ward had a 40-save night). For a quiet weekend (three games), there was a lot of movement in the NLL Power Rankings, especially up top. No. 6 Calgary had a bye week but dropped three spots in the standings simply because everyone around them moved up. No. 8 Colorado and No. 9 Vancouver swapped spots, but other than that, San Diego, Rochester and Philadelphia stayed at No. 7, No. 10 and No. 11 respectively.

Looking ahead to this weekend, it’s another relatively quiet one with only four games on the slate. Georgia hosts the slipping Knighthawks, Saskatchewan will try to continue their recent resurgence against the Roughnecks at home, San Diego hosts the Warriors in a game that could dictate playoff seeding down the road and New England welcomes the Mammoth to Connecticut in another Sunday matinee (New England’s bread and butter).
