Northstar Offers Premier Girls Lacrosse Experience

The BRINE Northstar Invitational, one of the nation’s premier recruiting and development experiences, will return for its sixth consecutive year to the Northwood School in historic Lake Placid. The Northstar Invitational combines concentrated talent, carefully engineered on-field sessions, college recruiting exposure, and overall high quality lacrosse competition, a combination which creates an exceptional opportunity for student athletes to prepare for the next level. Attendees are offered nearly as much experience off the field, with extensive focus on sports performance, leadership, inspiration, mental fitness, recruiting perspective, and a holistic approach to supporting student athletes in the endeavor to be their best.

Northstar evolves each year to ensure a unique format which maximizes both the depth and breadth of athletes’ development opportunity and exposure. We seek high quality student athletes and leaders, and then relish in the opportunity to contribute to their development and success.

The 2017 Northstar Invitational selection process is under way, with recommendations coming in from well-respected high school and club coaches from across the map. If history dictates, competition will be as strong as ever. Invited student athletes will represent the highest caliber of 2019, 2020, and 2021 graduating classes from across the United States and Canada. Past Northstar athletes have left large shoes to fill, with over 200 Northstar Athletes having committed to Division I women’s lacrosse programs.

Murphy continued:

Each year, we are increasingly impressed with the talent, competitiveness, and maturity of our athletes. Each has dreams of competing at the next level; it is special to see them come together – be it from California, Canada, Illinois, Florida, or New York – and be surrounded by other individuals of their caliber, to challenge and learn from each other. We seek athletes who will rise to the occasion and follow in the footsteps of those before them.

Northstar features small-sided and full-field games, with a focus on teamwork, chemistry development, and maximizing team-oriented success. Other elements which make Northstar unique include the Northstar Performance Index (NPI), a partnership with both Victory Academy and Lacrosse Recruits, and a longstanding relationship with mental fitness professional, Dr. Mara Smith. Presenting sponsor, BRINE Lacrosse, ensures that Northstar athletes look the part.

As the recruiting process continues to evolve, Northstar is focused on the developmental opportunity presented by concentrated talent and streamlined information from individuals who have been there, and who know the process. We aim for Northstar athletes to leave Lake Placid as more informed, motivated, and confident leaders, with a sense of where they fall in the national landscape, and how best to allocate their resources as they navigate the waters, and aim to achieve their goals.
