It’s gettin’ to be about that time again Lax Nation…that’s right, time to kick back and enjoy a cold one with some YouTube lax tricks!
This week I am presenting Stone Brewing Company’s Arrogant Bastard Ale, one that I’m sure many of you have heard of. This brew is simply put, out of control. It really just has more of everything; malt, barley, and of course hops. I could describe this beer all day, but I think the description on the bottle does it the most justice:
“This is an agressive beer. You probably won’t like it…”
And if that and the rest of the bullying description isn’t enough, the front of the bottle just says, “You’re not worthy”, along with a defiant 7.2% Alc. Vol. Did I mention there’s a gargoyle? The Stone Brewing Co is great too, as I have personally gone on a tour of their Escondido plant. The place was out in the middle of nowhere a little north of San Diego and me and my buddy were road tripping back to Portland. We decided to stop in and check the place out. Not only did I get to try the arrogant bastard ale as a wort before fermenting, but I had plenty more crazy, finished brews while hanging with the brew master himself!
He was really down to earth and gave me and my buddy a bunch of tips on our own homebrewing along with his card. It was a great time, and I have to say I enjoyed this beer, as I have many times in the past, but you have to be committed to a strong drink that you’ll be sippin on for a while.
And while I was, I took a look around YouTube for some lax vids. I gotta say its a little dry on the tubes in the midst of the off season, but what better time for tricks, er I mean, stick skills! And what do I find but a coach named Chapla claiming some of the best tricks out there. After lookin around a bit, I think he may just be right. What do you think lax nation?
