2016 Goalie: Canadian Stopper Shows Promise

Caelahn Bullen isn’t the biggest goalie in the world. but he definitely impressed me with his positioning, as well as his ability to react to shots from in close. I’ll let you decide if you think his game is on point or not (I think it is), but there are a couple of other points about this young prospect that make me think of him as a winner:

Bullen has a 4.0 GPA, and he goes to an excellent academic high school in New York in Trinity Pawling.

Bullen also plays box lacrosse for the Calgary Axemen, where he is a transition player. What other field goalies also play transition in the box world? Brett Queener and John Galloway jump to mind immediately. Bullen seems to understand that game as well, and can play some O, which is likely to give him good insight in to opposing offenses as a field goalie.

He’s played with, and against, some of the best. When you play for West Coast Starz, and you’ve played the Long Island Express, you’ve been tested. Nothing wrong with that!

Is Bullen going to be considered a top recruit in the next year or two? Based off where he is now, this youngster definitely has some potential.
