Over the weekend I traveled out to Sisters, Oregon with West Linn High School’s JV squad (along with a 7th/8th Youth Team), to participate in the Sisters Annual Lacrosse Invitational.
When I wasn’t busy eating hamburgers and hanging by the RV provided by some great WLHS parents, I snapped some photos to show how Growing The Game is alive and well in Oregon.
Photo blog time…
Pretty much a miracle that they all made it on time. Even though some were still in their PJ’s…
Somehow we escaped the rain and I even got a little sunburn going. NICE!
There were 16 JV teams at the SALI from Roseburg to Sprague, and all the way out to Bend & Summit HSs as well.
UPDATE: Even Montana and SW Washington were represented! GTG to the max.
The high altitude was a factor all day, but the team gutted out a 4-3 victory over Lake Oswego in the Championship game. Great job, boys!
Update: There’s even additional coverage from the Sisters Nugget Newspaper with some great quotes from Bill Rexford, head coach of the Sisters HS Outlaws. Over 1,000 players came out last weekend.
