TRUE Partners With The One Love Foundation

To help raise awareness about the warning signs for relationship violence, TRUE will be donating a portion of proceeds from a brand new lacrosse handle to The One Love Foundation in memory of University of Virginia women’s lacrosse player Yeardly Love.

Love was beaten to death in 2010 by her ex-boyfriend just weeks before her graduation from UVA. The One Love Foundation works with young people across the country to raise awareness about the warning signs of abuse.

Lacrosse is more than a sport—it’s a family. We hope this partnership with The One Love Foundation will help raise funds and awareness in the memory of one of our own. We understand the importance of this message for young people everywhere and encourage communities and organizations across the country to work together to put an end to relationship violence.

– Jerry Scott, TRUE’s Director of Lacrosse

About The One Love Foundation

One Love was founded in 2010 to honor Yeardley Love, a UVA student who was beaten to death by her ex-boyfriend just weeks before their graduation. After her death, Yeardley’s friends and family were shocked to learn the statistics about relationship violence and to realize that no one knew how at risk Yeardley really was.

Today, One Love honors Yeardley by working with young people across the country to raise awareness about the warning signs of abuse and activate communities to work to change the statistics around relationship violence.
