China Lacrosse Announces Tryouts For Men’s National Teams

China Lacrosse is pleased to announce tryouts for 2 Men’s National Teams-which will represent China at the 2020 U19 World Championship and 2020 World Cup Qualifying Tournament (Asia Pacific Region) respectively. The U19 World Championship will be held in Limerick, Ireland, from July 9th to 18th, 2020. The date and venue of the Asia Pacific Rvegion World Cup Qualifying Tournament is not determined as of now. Prospective players should carefully read the following information, and promptly contact the coaching staff with any questions.

China Lacrosse will hold several in-person tryouts through September and October, in China and the United States. Please refer to the tryout schedule below. Prospective players are required to attend one of the following tryouts.

  • Shanghai: September 21 (Time/Location TBD)
  • Wuhan: September 25 (Time/Location TBD)
  • Beijing: September 28 (Time/Location TBD)
  • New Jersey: October 5 (Time/Location TBD)

Prospective players who are unable to attend one of the above tryouts should contact the coaching staff immediately. The coaching staff will grant requests for remote video tryouts on a case-by-case basis.

Tryout Fee (In-Person/Video): 300 RMB or 45 USD

Player Fee: To be paid at a later date by players selected for the final roster

U19 Lacrosse World Championship: 12,000 RMB or 1800 USD

Asia World Cup Qualifying Tournament: TBD

Following the criteria set by World Lacrosse, the Chinese men’s national team tryout will be open to:

  • Chinese male nationals (passport holders)
  • Non-passport holding males who meet one of the following criteria:
    • Parents: One or both birth parents, adoptive parents, or step-parents was born in China.
    • Grandparents: One or more birth or adoptive grandparents was born in China.
  • Prospective players must be at least 16 years of age by start date of tournament.

Non-passport players will be required to submit documentation at a later date proving their connection to China. As stipulated by World Lacrosse, participating nations can have a maximum of four non-passport players on the team.

Players who turn 19 BEFORE August 31, 2019 are NOT eligible to try out for the team.

Player can chose to register either one or both of these tournaments, all players must register for the tryout by filling out a Player Registration form on China Lacrosse website no later than August 31st 2019. And submit China Lacrosse Participation Waiver (signed by a parent/guardian for players under 18), pay the 300 RMB (45 USD) tryout fee on site.

At tryouts, the coaching staff will assess the fitness level and lacrosse skills of prospective players. Tryout activities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Run test (2x300m shuttle run, 3 minutes rest between sets)
  • 3 cone drill
  • Various passing, catching, shooting, and ground ball drills
  • 1 vs. 1 and 2 vs. 2 drills
  • Unsettled situations (4 vs. 3 and 5 vs. 4)
  • Clearing and riding drills
  • Settled 6 vs. 6
  • Controlled scrimmage

Additionally, prospective players will be required to provide their coach’s email address on their registration form. China Lacrosse may contact coaches for more information on certain players.

During tryouts, coaches will evaluate all players based on the following criteria:

  • Attitude and coachability
  • General athleticism (strength, speed, quickness, endurance, etc.)
  • Passing and catching
  • Ground balls
  • Dodging
  • Shooting
  • Defensive ability (1 vs. 1 defense, off-ball defense, positioning, team defense)
  • General lacrosse IQ

For goalies: shot blocking ability, positioning, communication, leadership

Once tryouts are complete, the coaching staff will analyze their player assessments, and according to the evaluation criteria listed above, select the final 23-man roster for 2 teams. The final roster will be announced on October 15th, 2019.

All players selected to the final roster are expected to commit to the following:

  • Paying the player fee, which will cover flights, accommodation, meals, team kit, etc.
  • Adherence to the China Lacrosse strength/conditioning plan and wall ball routine in the year leading up to the tournament
  • Attend monthly practices before the tournament (players in China)
  • Attend 2-3 team practices in the months prior to the tournament (players in US)
  • Completing a volunteer service requirement as stipulated by China Lacrosse
  • Attending training camp before the tournament (dates/location TBD)
  • Attending the 2020 U19 Lacrosse World Championship (July 9th-18th)/ Asia Pacific Region World Cup Qualifying Tournament (date TBD)

U19棍网球世界杯锦标赛 – 12000元人民币或1800 美元

棍网球世界杯资格赛 –待定

根据世界棍网球(World Lacrosse)的标准,报名中国男子国家队的选拔需满足以下条件:

• 中国男性公民(中国护照持有人)

• 符合下列条件之一的非中国护照持有的男性:

• 父母:亲生父母,养父母,或继父母中有人出生在中国。

• 祖父母:至少一个亲生或养祖父母在中国出生。

• 在比赛开始当日之前,球员必须年满16岁。

非护照持有球员需交提交有亲缘关系的文件证明。 根据世界棍网球的规定,每个参赛队最多可以有4名非护照持有球员。

男子U19世界锦标赛

• 在2019年8月31日时已年满19岁的球员,不符合U19锦标赛选拔标准。

注册:

球员可以根据个人情况选择注册参加 其中一项或两项赛事,所有球员必须在2019年8月31日前通过中国棍网球官网页面注册个人信息(本文最末),并于选拔现场上交参赛免责书(18岁以下球员需家长/监护人签名),以及支付300元人民币(45美元)的选拔费用。

选拔信息:

在选拔过程中中,教练组将评估参加选拔球员的体能水平和棍网棍球技术。选拔活动包括但不限于:

• 跑步测试(2×300米折返跑,每组休息间隔3分钟)

• 绕三个障碍物折返跑

• 各种传球、接球、射门和地滚球

• 1对1 ;2对2

• 快攻情况 4对3;5对4

• 守门员开球和进攻球员干扰开球

• 6 对6

• 分队比赛

此外,参加选拔的球员将被要求在登记表上提供教练的电子邮件地址。中国棍网球可能联系球员的教练来了解更多关于球员的信息。

在选拔过程中,教练将根据以下标准对所有球员进行评估:

· 态度,可塑性

· 运动能力(力量、速度、敏捷、耐力等)

· 传球和接球

· 地滚球

· 过人能力

· 射门

· 防守能力(1 对 1;无球防守;站位;团队防守)

· 棍网球场上意识

· 守门员:救球能力,站位,交流能力和领导能力

选拔后续流程:

一旦选拔完成,教练组将对球员进行分析评估,并根据上面列出的评估标准,选择两支队最终的23人名单。最终名单将于2019年10月15日公布。

入选最终名单的球员应遵守以下规定:

• 支付球员费用,用于比赛期间机票、住宿、膳食、队服,装备等

• 在入选后到比赛前的期间,执行中国棍网球下发的力量/体能训练计划和对墙练习

• 参加比赛前的月度训练(中国本土选手)

• 参加比赛前几个月的2-3场球队在美国的统一训练(海外球员)

• 完成中国棍网球队规定的志愿服务要求

• 参加赛前训练营(日期/地点待定)

• 参加2020年U19男子棍网球世界锦标赛(7月9日-18日)/ 男子世界杯亚太区资格赛(时间地点待定)
