Dillon Ward and Josh Byrne: LASt Word

The 2018 FIL World Lacrosse Championships was monumental in many ways, and Lacrosse All Stars gave you a dynamic front-row seat to the action with interviews including Dillon Ward and Josh Byrne. It was the first time the games had been hosted in a non-English speaking country. Ever. It was also the best participation at a world games with 46 countries participating.

LaxAllStars was there to bring you all of the coverage. Over the next few weeks, we will be reliving the top moments and memories from world championships. Follow along as we bring you exclusive interviews, photos, highlight videos and more.

We’d like to thank our friends at SISU Mouthguards for their support of our coverage at the world games. Be sure to check out their site and consider buying one of their products.

Today, we are bringing you an interview that our world games broadcast host Josh Hawkins did on LASt Word with Team Canada’s goalkeeper Dillon Ward and attackman Josh Byrne. Team Canada had just come off of a 12-6 win over a tough Team England squad in round-robin play en route to their silver medal at the world games.

Josh Hawkins, Ward and Josh Byrne talk about the challenges of playing in the climate of Israel and what it meant to have the team play for Canadian lacrosse legend David Huntley. They also discuss Team Canada’s unique sleeping arrangements at the hotel in Israel. A special thanks to Dillon and Josh for being on the show and taking the time for the interview!

Be sure to stay tuned for future interviews, highlight videos and photos we release in the coming days and weeks.
