Dom Stella Uncommitted All Star
Nothing beats a quick, crafty long stick with solid footwork and polished stick skills. That’s just what we get with 2019 Avon Grove and Philadelphia Freedom defenseman out of Eastern Pennsylvania, Dom Stella. The 5’11” 165 pound pole was late to the lacrosse game, only picking up a stick in his sophomore year of high school. Not letting experience slow him down, he’s used his intelligence and coachability to work his way to varsity and on to become the 2017 Pennsylvania State Champion.
Understanding the important connection between athletics and academics, Stella has achieved a 4.0+ GPA, while taking Honors Math and English along with AP History. All the while, he has excelled in his pursuit as a lacrosse player and a member of the school’s varsity basketball program. The big righty has two more springs left with Avon Grove and a summer with the Freedom to help build his skillset and get his name on the lacrosse map.
Dom Stella According To Coach:
“Dom is a smart, athletic and very coachable defender. His raw talent has a lot of potential as he always asks questions and looks to get better every time he steps on the field. Stella is an incredible team guy who encourages & inspires his teammates.”
– Brendan Staudt
Lacrosse-wise, Stella might be a few years behind his counterparts, but he’s put in the effort on his own time to bring his skills up to speed. He’s a confident and athletic defenseman that also has found success at the LSM position. He finds great accomplishment of being a shut-down type of guy that uses his voice to and communication to make up where he might lack in experience. This kid has become a sponge in the classroom and on the lacrosse field, preparing him to be marketable student-athlete for many campuses around the country.
