Hungary Lacrosse Roster – 2018 FIL Championships

Riding the momentum of the big group announcement, Hungary has revealed the list of 18 men that will represent the nation at the 2018 FIL World Lacrosse Championship in Netanya Israel this July. This will be the first time that the Hungarians compete on the game’s largest stage, but they’re no newbies to international competition. Gödöllő (outside Budapest) was the home of the 2016 European Lacrosse Championships and the host team went 4-4, placing 17th overall.

(Check out the FULL list of FIL rosters HERE.)

Hungary also compete in the International Lacrosse Showdown last fall at Johnson and Wales College, where they competed alongside Israel, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Greece, Portugal, and the Philipines. The event served as a strong litmus test for all of the team to not only realize where they stood amongst other in preparation, but what talent would best serve the team for a run at the World Games.

They’re confident with their 18 and are well prepared to make their big debut in a few short months. Hungary will be competing in the Orange group against Sweden and Argentina, starting with the Argentinians on 7/13 at 6:45 pm. They’ll face the Swedes the following day at 3:15 pm to decide how the group will shake out.
