My name is Rien Zabor and this is my first journal entry for Lacrosse All Stars. It’s my first official post since my introduction to the LaxAllStars community through the Music Monday feature seven years ago. Over the next couple of weeks I’m going to take you on my Israel adventure!
A Bit of Background
I picked up my first lacrosse stick in the 4th grade simply so I could play catch with my older brother. My playing career has lead me to High School State Championships, founding a collegiate club and now plenty of adult pick-up games. Off the field I have been lucky enough to have traveled the country and the globe thanks to the sport of lacrosse.
One of my favorite experiences this sport has given me was the opportunity to travel to Uganda in 2012 with Fields of Growth where I got to play alongside and coach some of the budding Ugandan National Team players.
What capped off that experience was the chance to witness the Cranes compete in their first-ever FIL sanctioned tournament in Denver, CO at the 2014 FIL World Championships and win their first game! Since that time I’ve worked in marketing for LACROSSE.COM, and more recently I’ve now linked up with Lacrosse All Stars to aid in the company’s mission to GROW THE GAME.
What to Expect from My Israel Adventure
As you’re reading this, I will be en route to Israel with a total travel time of 18 hours from Seattle, WA to Tel Aviv. For everyone that will not be making the trek to Netanya, I will be documenting my experience from my first flight to the last so that you can experience it first-hand through my lens.
To kick things off, I’ll be taking over the LaxAllStars Instagram stories recording my movements across the country and on the grounds in Netanya. So make sure to give them a follow!
While showcasing my movements on Instagram I’ll also summerize my daily activities right here in the An Israel Adventure series. I’ll cover topics such as game highlights, introduce the LaxAllStars staff, showcase our daily live show and more!
The next 10 days are going to be hot and busy, but it’s going to be a lot of fun!
