That Old Lacrosse Head: Excalibur Six Shooter

Yes, That Old Lacrosse Head has already covered the STX Excalibur, and yes, TOLH has already covered a traditional Excalibur, but the show is yet to string up a modern Six Shooter pocket in an old lacrosse head, until today! That Old Lacrosse Head brings you a picture perfect STX Excalibur Six Shooter pocket!

The blue Excalibur had a pretty good pocket in it when I picked the stick up. The only problem with it was the looseness of the sidewalls and lack of any feel or hold. The ball could swing from side to side wildly, and the factory strung pocket allowed for the leathers to bunch in some places.

The solution to a tightly woven original traditional pocket that you want to reuse is to turn it into an Excalibur Six Shooter!

By clamping those side runners (the white nylon that runs down the head like leather) down tight, this wide old head takes on a much better channel. The ball sits in the middle of the head much better, and the bunching in the leathers is definitely reduced in a major way.

Reusing the original pocket also gives this head a three color string job, and the look of the stick is truly superb. Any CityLax (Syracuse player in the 90s) would be happy to rock this stick! The Excalibur Six Shooter is a beauty!
