Stan Cockerton — LASt Word

The 2018 FIL World Lacrosse Championships was monumental in many ways, and Lacrosse All Stars gave you a dynamic front-row seat to the action with interviews including an interview with former FIL president Stan Cockerton, who has passed the reins over to current FIL President Sue Redfern.

It was the first time the games had been hosted in a non-English speaking country. Ever. It was also the best participation at a world games with 46 countries participating.

LaxAllStars was there to bring you all of the coverage. Over the next few weeks, we will be reliving the top moments and memories from world championships. Follow along as we bring you exclusive interviews, photos, highlight videos and more.

Josh and Stan discuss the growth of the game across the world, the role that the media plays in its growth, lacrosse as an Olympic sport and what it’s like now that Stan has stepped down as president.

Stan Cockerton: LASt Word

Josh Hanks interviews former FIL Lacrosse president Stan Cockerton. Stan’s son Mark Cockerton played at the University of Virginia and then for Team Canada. Stan and Mark are the all-time leading point scoring duo in the NCAA.
