Johns Hopkins Announces 2014 Captains

Seniors Rob Guida and James Malm, along with Junior Mike Pellegrino, have been named the 2014 captains for the Johns Hopkins men’s lacrosse program. Hop missed out on the NCAA tournament last year, so the naming of captains definitely has a little extra spark to it this year.

Throwback Thursday: 1980 National Championship

Johns Hopkins defeated Virginia 9-8 (in overtime) in the 1980 Division 1 Men’s Lacrosse national championship game. The game was played at Cornell University in front of over 10,000 fans. Jeff Harris scored the OT game winner for Hop, and the goal was assisted by Jim Bidne. This was Hopkins’ third straight national title in men’s lacrosse.
