Team USA Spring Premiere 2017It is a great measuring stick for our team to be able to compete against the best players in the world on Team USA. It gives us a tremendous opportunity to see what our strengths and weaknesses are in a game scenario, and be able to work on them before the regular season begins.

– Florida coach Amanda O’Leary

The 2017 World Cup Training Team will then face last year’s No. 6 seed Notre Dame at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 15, before the U.S. men’s national team squares off also against Notre Dame, which was seeded third, at 1 p.m.

This is the third time that we have gone down there to play the national team. First of all, it’s always an honor to play against the best in the country. More importantly, it is a team-building opportunity for us. It is an unbelievable way for us to start our preseason. To know that from day one, we are going to have to compete and play at a very high level to get out of the scrimmage what we want to get out of it. Playing Team USA is all positive for our program in so many different aspects.

– Notre Dame men’s lacrosse coach Kevin Corrigan
