Four weeks complete, four weeks to go. CUFLA has reached the midway point of the 2014 regular season in the chase for the Baggataway Cup. In the West, traditional power Brock Badgers (5-0) have separated themselves from the pack while the East Division teams continue to chase McGill (8-0).

Two weeks of play of the 2014 Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association season is in the books as all teams have played at least three games. Defending Baggataway Cup champion Guelph (0-3) have found defending the title a bit tougher than winning, losing their first three games. 2013 was the fourth league championship for the Gryphons, their first since 2008.

Opening week of play in the Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association (CUFLA) is in the books as 13 of the 15 teams played at least one game. 2014 marks the 30th season for CUFLA, which is made up of schools in Ontario and Quebec.

Minnesota weather is by definition ‘unpredictable’ and that proved true on Saturday when the MSHSL Boys Lacrosse Championship game was postponed due to heavy rain and lightning. That meant the showdown between two of the top prep teams in the Midwest would have to wait. The game was then moved to Monday and again was postponed. Now the two teams are scheduled to meet on Tuesday.

Minnesota State Tournament Preview

At the beginning of the 2014 season, 67 Minnesota teams set out on a quest for one goal: to reach the state tournament and play for a championship. After section playoffs those 67 teams are now down to eight, which have advanced into the tourney scheduled for June 10-14. Games will be played at Chaska and Chanhassen High Schools.

University of Wisconsin To Host GLLL Championship Tournament Weekend

The 2014 Great Lakes Lacrosse League (GLLL) regular season has come to a close and league champions will be crowned on the weekend of April 26-27. The Wisconsin Badgers club lacrosse team will host a league championship tournament in two divisions. The “A” bracket consists of the top eight clubs in GLLL while the “B” bracket features 20 teams.

The 2014 Canadian Lacrosse League season will come to a conclusion on Friday night when the regular season champion Ohsweken Demons play host to the Niagara Lock Monsters. With the two clubs on top of the CLax standing the entire regular season, this showdown seemed destined-to-happen for weeks. The prize for the winner: the Creators’ Cup.
