Lax Link-O-Rama

Lax Link-o-rama

Brunelle and Craven here today. No one can wax poetic about the week of lacrosse in review like our guru Conner Wilson, but in this week’s Link-O-Rama we’re going to try our best.

On Wednesday we celebrated our men and women in uniform, and with that in mind we really liked this preview of the 2010 Army Black Knights courtesy of Inside Lacrosse.  The Black Knights will start the spring down in sunny Florida with exhibition games against the US National team and Duke followed by kicking off their 93rd season with a home game against VMI.

Jeffrey Long, Kevin Lowe, Mark Millon, and Todd Curry were the part of the 2009 class inducted into the US Lacrosse Hall Of Fame in a ceremony on November 7th. The ’09 HOF class was one of the youngest ever.

Classy suits, fellas!

On the coaching front, The Presbyterian College (South Carolina) athletics department has announced that Mike Gongas has been named acting head men’s lacrosse coach. The former New York Titan graduated from Adephi in 2007 had been serving as the interim head coach after Jason Childs left to become the first lacrosse coach at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia.

Stephen Berger is now working over at US Lacrosse. Congrats to that guy! Sounds like a good gig to lock in.

US Lacrosse gave the run down on the upcoming LXM Pro event in Orange County next Saturday. Akon is out, but…

3OH3!, DRAKE, and The Cab have joined the LXM PRO event

Why is a video blog called a vlog? It just doesn’t sound right. “I’m gunna vlog that!” Anyway, the Brown lacrosse team vlogged on their trip to San Francisco to play UNC. Good stuff. And you know what’s even better? We’ve got an Fireside Chat with stud Brown player dropping next week. You can expect quite a bit of Brown Bears lax content on LAS throughout the season.

Speaking of Firesides, we had a few quality chats this week. Monday started off with the Chapman duo, Connor Martin and Andrew Clayton. 412 talked shop with Cal’s Connor Thomas on Tuesday. Simon Fraser’s Adam Foss spit game on LAS Wednesday. And finally, yesterday Wilson spoke with Certified Aussie and Maryland middie Adam Sear.

On the gear side of things, 412 gave us a lengthy list of sweet new glove mockups and sublimated pennies. Lacrosse Playground got a behind the scenes look at Team USA’s new cleats. And last but not least, we unveiled the Oregon Ducks’ new gloves.

Our buddies over at HomeField are in the running for NYC’s Top Video startup. You can help them win by voting.

HomeField also released a commercial this week:

Thought that was pretty funny? Us too. Good work guys.

This video, however, is pretty ridiculous if you ask us: How To Become a Pro Lacrosse Player in 5 Easy Steps. It’s just that easy. Even a dog can be a pro…
