No. 6 Charlie Kitchen of Delaware has his defender “hung up” above the cage for a 1v1 dodge. He takes his time to allow the offense to set up a hang up play (which many colleges will practice). Pay attention to the Hofstra defenders on crease, many of them lock off their players and aren’t even looking at the ball carrier…
Kitchen recognizes this and most likely realizes that because the defenders aren’t looking at him, they can’t slide, giving him a 1v1 dodge matchup with no defensive help.
He points to his teammate on crease telling him where to go, and that player moves to make room for Kitchen’s dodge. Kitchen tries his luck with a right handed dodge, gets his hands free and scores a beautiful on the run goal.
