CityLax Gansevoort Fundraiser: DJ Billy Bitter

On May 22nd, CityLax is hosting a great night of lacrosse (and fundraising!) at the Gansevoort in Manhattan. The event will run from 8:30 to 11:30 and will be teeming with current CityLax volunteers, pro lacrosse players, and the New York City lacrosse faithful.

Traditional Thursday: Lance Gibson’s Connor Pocket

Lance Gibson strung up a super clean 6-diamond traditional pocket in a brand new Brine Clutch Elite, sent the photos in, and even referred to it as a “Connor Pocket” because he used a tear drop top string. I am honored that anyone would name their traditional work after me, but when a stringer of Lance’s quality does it? It’s a pure compliment!

NCAA D1 Lacrosse: A New Champion in 2013?

When one looks at the eight remaining NCAA D1 men’s lacrosse teams, it is easy to notice that half the teams have won national championships before, and half have not. What didn’t jump out to me right away (but came to me late at night in a dream) is that no past winners are playing each other, and neither are any first time hopefuls.

First Seasons: Highlands In Texas

We’ll be looking at a number of first year programs this year, and publishing reports from the coaches and supporters of these new teams. Our first report comes from Mary Mattia, out of Highlands, Texas. She played a key role in getting a new program off the ground, and continues to support these boys with their dreams in big ways. We LOVE sharing stories like this one!

We’re Down To EIGHT: Sunday D1 Lacrosse Recap

ND/Cuse Game Photos by Tommy Gilligan

What was once 16, is now 8. In Saturday’s games, you did NOT want to come out with an early lead. It was basically a death sentence. Totally coincidental? Probably. On Sunday, we were treated to a great slate of games, and these four did not disappoint.

Rob Pannell Being Rob Pannell: Shovel Goal

It’s a shovel shot, but for some reason it seems like more than that. Maybe it’s all the pressure Pannell was under right before shooting it. Maybe it’s the fact that it’s a playoff game. Maybe it’s the fact that Eamon gives it the SportsCenter Top 10 call… we’re not sure. We are sure, however, that this was a monster effort by RP3.

Video: OCC Beats Nassau For 5th Straight JuCo Title

Onondaga Community College and Nassau Community College absolutely went at it yesterday out on Long Island for the NJCAA Men’s Lacrosse national championship. OCC ended up with the 15-11 win, and their fifth straight title, and we were roundly impressed with the talent on both teams.
