Both of these schools had no issue getting through the semifinals. Archbishop Curley has been a strong program as of recent, but rarely is able to go the distance and secure the hardware. The Friars will rely on their blue-collar mentality to push them through this game. Archbishop Curley is a gritty program who is determined to finish the job this year relying on their solid defense and consistent offense.

Indian Creeks is considered the “Hometown Hero’s” in this matchup as they will be playing in their own back yard. Indian Creek is a team that plays with a chip on their shoulder at all times which has finally paid off this season. The Eagles are having a breakout season and a MIAA Championship would truly cap off a phenomenal year.

🥍St. Mary’s vs. McDonogh

McDonogh is a traditional powerhouse in MIAA lacrosse but has come up short in recent years. After a semifinals loss last year, the Eagles clawed their way to the MIAA Championship game this season mostly thanks to McCabe Millon. Millon is the No.1 player in the 2023 class according to Inside Lacrosse and secured the buzzer beater win earlier this week during the Eagles’ semifinal game against Boys’ Latin.

If St. Mary’s is able to win it all this year it will be due to the team’s chemistry especially in it’s senior class. Much like many other MIAA programs, St. Mary’s is always in the conversation of making it to the big dance but typically come short of getting their. The team’s last MIAA Championship appearance came in 2018 where they inevitable fell to Calvert Hall. This year appears to be different as the Saints are having a breakout year with a 16-2 record. That record will mean nothing unless the Saints are able to take down McDonogh tonight.
