I’ve been looking forward to this MM for a little wHile as ScHoolboy Q’s HigHly anticipated album OxyMoron was released on the 25th. To me, it was only rigHt to give you my insigHt into the project.

Music Monday: A Storm of Music

nas

This Monday I’m bringing you a ton of new music. Let me say (type) that again, I’m bringing you TONS of new music! I know plenty of you have been dumped on with snow but I’m sending a flurry or music your way. Since there’s plenty to listen to, I’ll get straight to it:

Music Monday: Laid Back Lions

I hope everyone across the LAS universe, near and far, is having a wonderful Monday and enjoyed a solid weekend of lax. Here in the states, it seems like just about everyone is hitting a bout of bad weather. That being said, today’s featured album is one with which you can kick back and relax tonight as the storms howl away outside.

Music Monday: A Big Gigantic President’s Day

Happy President’s Day to the LaxAllStars nation! We hope everyone is enjoying a three day weekend and let’s remember to thank President Washington for allowing the celebration of his birthday to always fall on a Monday. Now let’s bump Big Gigantic, huh?

Music Monday – John Butler Trio

John Butler Trio

In my eyes (or ears), John Butler is one of the best musicians out there. His music career began when he was young and living in Australia, learning to play music from a diverse range of genres on an old dobro.

Music Monday: A.M.J. – One of Our Own

Music Monday: Adam Janis aka A.M.J

Our friend Chris Vale hit the tipline to let us know of former lacrosse player turned rapper, A.M.J. A.M.J. hails from the Saratoga Springs, NY, area, and his family and friends better know him as Adam Janis.

Music Monday: After Music’s Biggest Night

Grammys

Happy Monday LAS!

As most of you know, last night was the 56th annual Grammy Awards which celebrated the musical achievements of the past year. Now it’s time to look forward to some fresh music in 2014.

Music Monday: Martin Had A Dream

Martin Luther King Jr.

Today we remember the life and legacy of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., whose contributions to the social and political sphere of the United States are innumerable. And over the years, the global musical sphere has become filled with songs inspired by or dedicated to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Below you’ll find songs that pay homage to Dr. King.

Music Monday: Kid Ink’d

Kid Ink

Producer recently-turned rapper Kid Ink hales from LA and has been turning heads (or more so ears) over the last couple years with a series of mixtapes that earned him a well-deserved contract with RCA. As of late, it seems like there are plenty of new artists sprouting all over the hip-hop nation, but few with both the producing and rapping skills that Kid Ink supplies.

Music Monday: Iller Than Most

Typically January is a slower month for new music but I think a trend is developing in music in which artists release surprise albums for fans to download and enjoy. First Beyonce did it, then the Lox and now Del the Funky Homosapien. This week, the goofy Bay Area rapper debuts ‘Iller Than Most,’ a collection of off-kilter rhymes over groovy computer beats.

Music Monday: New Year Music!

It’s almost the New Year, and that means you’re probably looking for a couple songs to add to the old playlist to spice up the holiday celebrations. I’ve got a couple of lesser known songs that should help you do just that. Are some of them a little bizarre? Yes, but that’s the point!

Music Monday: Laxmas!

RUN-DMC X-MAS

Happy Holidays LAS! Laxmas is all but here so I figured I’d spread a little Laxmas cheer and share with you a few Christmas songs. These aren’t your traditional carols or cliche’ tunes but rather a few songs that are a little less played out. So cozy up with your glass of eggnog and enjoy some Laxmas music!
